Reiki/Energy Healing

Energy healing takes place within the individual's biomagnetic field or aura, and is based on the principle of the body's natural ability to heal. Our understanding is that everything carries an energetic vibration, therefore how the individual receives whatever they engage with energetically may cause; distortion, dis-ease or blocks in their; physical, mental, emotional or spiritual body.

The aim of energy healing is thus to shift and clear this for natural energetic flow and healing to occur. In some instances energy healing may not complete the healing process of the individual, it can however provide clearing and  conditioning for healing and flow to resume.

The reiki practitioner is seen as a conduit to universal energy available to everyone, and works within the 7 main energy centres also known as the chakras. I received my reiki master's training within the Usui tradition and offer energy healing as a treatment modality or an integrated form of treatment, which includes counselling and mindfulness practice.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is present moment awareness and beckons the individual toward presence, and cultivating the position of the observer in their lives. It encourages value-orientated living and engagement with whatever arises with an attitude of willingness.

Mindfulness has profoundly influenced my personal life, the best way I can describe it is to say I believe I had been treading the water of my own judgement for years, when it made its appearance in my life it was like coming up for air. Of course, this came with great relief and so it seems only natural that I would extend its teachings to clients and groups.

Mindfulness helps us navigate the tumultuous nature of our mind and emotions by practising non-judgement to attain greater self- awareness. With the underpinning of Mindfulness integrative sessions include; learning to be less in your head and more present with what is happening with-in your body in the moment. Hence sessions often include moments of reflection of the client's somatic experience as a shift toward greater embodiment.
